Among other projects, three exciting new music projects are in the making. Finally, once again a contemporary creation is on the program: I will sing the part of The Hunter Mister W. in "The Child and the Night" (sung in French), an opera for young audiences by Olivier Balazuc (libretto) and Franck Villard (music) with the ensemble Alterego. First performances will take place in Vevey and Geneva (Switzerland) during the 2010/2011 season.

Unter anderem sind folgende drei neuen aufregenden Musikprojekte im Tun: endlich wieder einmal eine zeitgenoessische Urauffuehrung, und zwar die Rolle des Jaegers Mister W. (auf franzoesisch) in "L'Enfant et la Nuit" ("Das Kind und die Nacht"), einer Oper fuer junges Publikum von Olivier Balazuc (Libretto) und Franck Villard (Musik) mit dem Ensemble Alterego mit ersten Vorstellungen in Vevey und Genf in der Spielzeit 2010/2011.

Following this, for the very first time, I have been invited to perform the totally crazy character part of Count Hauk-Sendorf (sung in Czech) in Leos Janacek's "The Makropulos Affair" at the National Opera of the Rhine / Strasbourg (France).

Plus, a wish which has been on my list since studying with the wonderful singer Prof. Maria Stader will at last be fulfilled: in 2011, I shall sing the Evangelist in J. S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio (sung in German, of course) with the ensemble arsmusica. The concerts will be in Trimbach and Saint Urban (Switzerland).

Discover the Voice
A series of recitals is offered to school classes to give children and teenagers a chance to become familiar with the singing voice. The programs are developed in collaboration with the performers and designed for special age groups. The students can then discover the singing voice within the intimate framework of the Studio Bastille concert hall. Sylvain Audino guides their listening by presenting the singers and the musical pieces. At the end of each program, the young audience has the possibility to pose questions directly to the artists.

Die Stimme entdecken.
Eine Serie von Gesangsprogrammen wird Schulklassen angeboten, um Kindern und Jugendlichen die Moeglichkeit zu geben, sich mit der Gesangsstimme vertraut zu machen. Die Programme sind zusammen mit den Kuenstlern ausgearbeitet und fuer genau definierte Altersgruppen bestimmt. Die SchuelerInnen koennen so Gesang im intimen Rahmen des Studio Bastille entdecken. Sylvain Audino fuehrt die ZuhoererInnen durch die Programme und am Schluss beantworten die Kuenstler Fragen.

Andreas Jaeggi sings and performs the Fourth Jew (including a high tenor-C) in one of the most difficult ensembles of the opera literature, known as the infamous "politically incorrect" Quintett of Jews in Richard Strauss' "Salome" (after Oscar Wilde).

After the production of "Juliette ou La Clef des songes" by Bohuslav Martinu at the National Opera of Paris / Bastille (France) in February 2006, Andreas Jaeggi interprets once more the roles of the Police Inspector, the Postman and the Clerk of the Central Office for Dreams, this time in London. Maestro Jiri Belohlavek will conduct this "Book of Dreams" at Barbican Hall with the BBC Symphony Orchestra on March 27, 2009. This staged (by Kenneth Richardson) live concert performance will also be recorded.

Nach der Produktion von: "Juliette ou La Clef des songes" von Bohuslav Martinu an der Opera National de Paris, Bastille im Februar 2006 interpretiert Andreas Jaeggi die drei Rollen des Polizeikommissars, Brieftraegers und Beamten des Zentralbureaus fuer Traeume erneut, diesmal in London. Unter dem Taktstock von Maestro Jiri Belohlavek wird die Traumoper semi-konzertant (Regie Kenneth Richardson) in der Barbican Hall mit den BBC Symphonie Orchester am 27. Maerz 2009 aufgefuehrt und aufgezeichnet.

DNO De Nederlandse Opera, Amsterdam Opera House (The Netherlands): "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss, November / December 2008. After his participation in the productions of Prokoviev's "L'ange de feu" (staging by Andrej Serban) and Offenbach's "Les brigands" (staging by Jerome Deschamps and Macha Makaieff) at the Amsterdam Opera House, Andreas Jaeggi was back in Amsterdam for the 2008/2009 season as Doktor Blind in Johann Strauss' "Die Fledermaus" (staging by Johannes Schaaf), a part he had already performed at the National Opera of Paris / Bastille, France (staging by Coline Serrau).

DNO De Nederlandse Opera, Opernhaus Amsterdam: "Die Fledermaus" von Johann Strauss, November / Dezember 2008. Nach seiner Beteiligung in den Produktionen von Prokovievs "Der Feuerengel" (Inszenierung Andrej Serban) und Offenbachs "Die Briganten" (Inszenierung von Jerome Deschamps und Macha Makaieff) am Opernhaus Amsterdam, war Andreas Jaeggi zur Spielzeit 2008/2009 zurueck in Amsterdam, und zwar als Doktor Blind in Johann Strauss' "Die Fledermaus" (Inszenierung von Johannes Schaaf), in einer Rolle, die er schon an der Opera National de Paris in der Bastille gesungen hatte (in der Inszenierung von Coline Serrau).
